    Default Help with ideas.

    Hello,

I have been a member here for a short while (really the day i got my hv30 i joined.).

I love all the footage that is being posted here, you guys are great. But the only problem is I can't come up with any ideas. I suck at coming up with ideas.

So all that I'm really asking is please help me with ideas. I play around with the camera and settings but i can't come up with really any ideas.

    Please Help. S.O.S.

    -Anthony

I started out by watching movies, dramas, commercials, youtube & Vimeo. That will give you some ideas.

What is your bias? Which genre do you innately prefer? Music video, documentary, art piece, horror/zombie, family, weddings/events...? Do you want to take a broad look at things or concentrate on detail? Humanity or nature? Beauty or pain? Do you have access to, or are you part of a defined subculture? What do you do, school or work? What do the people around you do that is visually stimulating? Does someone you know do a specific and interesting job/have a hobby that you can access, observe and record? What pretty pictures turn you on, or excite and inspire you? What were your thoughts and hopes prior to purchasing your HV30?

I would say that first of all, you need to figure out who your target audience is......

Will this just be seen be family & friends?

Is this something you want to shoot on a professional level and sell dvd's?

Will this be a webcast, and just shot and uploaded to a video site for people to watch?

Anyway, I would recommend shooting stuff that you are interested in first, as that will make it more exciting for you. Why shoot a fashion show as the first thing if you don't like fashion?

Also, what type of things do YOU like to watch on tv? You can shoot stuff like that also.

    You can shoot:

how-to videos......nature/animals......documentaries......hometown stories (of people and places in your neighborhood).....educational (PBS Shows, kids).

Nowadays, there is usually a market for just about anything and everything. The video websites are a big example.
