Anyone else noticed sticky preview when using footage captured with HDV Split? Same footage plays smooth as silk when captured with Vegas 7. (Intel Core 2 6600, 2 Gig RAM)

I run Vegas 8 and I usually render the HDV Split clips again in Vegas using the same codec. The clips play much faster after this process, sort of like combing hair.
It does seem to be a problem though, and an annoying work around. I know I've tried TMPGEnc 4 for batches but I haven't really tested it against Vegas recompressed clips.
This is a little OT, but why do people use HDsplit to capture when Vegas has its own integrated capture applet?
There are a couple of threads on the Vegas forums on this topic. The consensus is that HDVSplit files are not totally compatible with Vegas. Sony uses their own codec for capturing which makes the files work better in Vegas. I had problems with using HDVSplit files and went to start capturing with Vegas and things work much better.
Thanks for the warm welcome CycleWriter

Vegas does not like the files created by HDV split.

I had no problems so far with HDVSplit/Vegas 8 Pro. All my videos are loaded on the timeline without any glitch. What I do have problem with is the Vegas capture with split scenes. The clips don't blend smoothly and it looks like one frame or half frame is duplicated on the next clip. I think I saw this reported here but I can't find now.

I didn't have problems with HDVSplit at first then started having problems with capture so I switched to Vegas capture. I haven't noticed the frame duplicated in next clip, but I have only had time to capture my footage and not edit the footage yet. I will look closer for this slimoli.
You are right Slimoli. I see the same behavior. It is easy to fix as CycleWriter mentioned.
If you're talking about DV capture, it's a bug in the HV20. It's time codes must be messed up so your editor incorrectly splits the scenes. Also happens with Scenealyser, Movie Edit Pro and PE4 that I know of.What I do have problem with is the Vegas capture with split scenes. The clips don't blend smoothly and it looks like one frame or half frame is duplicated on the next clip.
I'm talking about HDV. Vegas 8 Pro captures the scenes but when you move the clips to the timeline and play them back you see the transition between clips are not smooth, like frames are overlapped at the end and/or beginning of the clips. The same happens with the audio. When I use HDVSplit or Ulead VS11+ the capture is fine.
No big deal, as the other fellow members reported it can be fixed with trimmer.
So what is the solution with HDVSplit and Vegas? how do you batch render a collection of clips? What codec do you render them out to?
So does scene detection for HDV capture not work properly in Vegas?
