    Default Shooting for Broadcast

What settings should you shoot at for US broadcast? 30fps? The more I read about this the more confused I get.

Just plain "HDV" setting on the camera.

Just shoot in 60i (this is what the HDV mode does).

If you want 0 dB gain, use the spotlight or the sunset template (easier than the light trick).

    Ian:

I am working on a historical documentary which will be mostly from archival photos from an extensive collection I have put together. But next week I am flying to Russia to get, amoung other things, some simple cut-away shots of things like the golden dome of St. Issac's againt the sky, and Alexander's Column in the early morning light. I am getting a little ahead of myself techinically, but with winter closing in, there is no time to loose.
