    Question Canon HV20 24p and Vegas 7.0

I'm wondering if anyone knows if Sony Vegas 7.0 will handle the 24p footage from the Canon HV20 properly? I know that Vegas will handle 24p from Sony's own V1U properly and do a correct IVTC into a 23.976 timeline. Wondering if the HV20 is in the exact same format with the same flags.

Hmm, good question. I think it might, but not 100% sure. Can test in a few weeks (at the latest) I hope...

Well the consensus seems to be Vegas 7 (or any other ver.) can't do automatic pulldown removal for the HV20's 24p files (though it can capture those files OK). I was also led to believe that support for automatic pulldown removal for the Sony V1U isn't built into Vegas yet either. (It probably captures the Sony files as 60i like it does with the HV20's 24p files.) Thus, the hope was an update by Sony to make Vegas V1U friendly would also make it HV20 friendly on the pulldown issue.... What does a "correct IVTC" mean?

Yes, that's pretty much what I think is going on also. They are normally pretty fast in updating such things, and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't have to wait too long...
