    That is one good-looking setup!

(As long as you have to have the mic on the camera...)

Thanks, attached to version 2: Anti-shock microphone.

Can build my version has some problems, you hear a squeak from camera shake rub rubber thread the microphone. Probably should be lubricated with grease gum rubber: HV20-smilie87:

    1) It looks like a "real one" if I can say so!
    2) Nice! Watched it quickly on my computer's speakers (not carefully using headphones) but it sounds great so far!

I can not decide if the sound is just ok, but stop with the construction of the microphone here, I have two versions one in posting # 403 and # 399, so the goal is almost reached. Thanks to everyone for your support.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but it sounds far from OK to my ears.
The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.

I am pleased with the results, we report front / back ok, noise reaching the camera is somewhat lower, stereo is ok, the HV30 built-in microphone was not something in any case.

Of course to professional claims is a long way, but I'm happy with the benefits listed above.

Try setting your gain manually. Can't you hear the AGC sucking all that noise in over the quiet parts?

Only auto mode. The HV30 LCD is small, my eyes at 45 years about insufficient, making impossible the camera settings, unless I walk about about half an hour to see what happens and I lost all filming

I found this handle in the random parts bin at Goodwill for $.50! I had to drill out the whole for the shoe post but it fits and looks perfect like it belongs on the cam. It even has a shoe mount on the open end. I knew buying a handful of those shoe posts was a good idea...

Not bad. Anything you shot that was quieter than this, so we could compare the sensitivity?

do not know what to answer, I am satisfied to some extent the sound, is stereo, there is good separation between the channels I would say left / right, we shot only with all settings on auto HV30 camera. In some clips the first 20 seconds is not original, that is sound mixing, but not less than 20 seconds and only the beginning of the clip.

I film rollerblading (aggressive in-line) edits/videos so I was trying to find out suitable handle for my needs. Here is a result:

    Features:
    • One-piece design
    • Made of steel - solid feel, more stable handling
    • Possibility to integrate “remote lanc” solution. Wire is put through the handle and leads to led positioned securely inside handle body, situated right under cameras IR-receiver. (see pictures)
    • Two shoe adapters (eg. light, mic)
    • Made for hv20/30 but obviously fits most of consumer camcorders
    • Its possible to change battery without removing the handle
    • Tripod compatible
    • Handle is slightly off axis of the tripod screw hole to aquire perfect balance

If some people would have been interested in getting one, I can make and sell them.
i'm interested to buy 1 or 2 diy handles identical with the one shown in your pictures. i'm from romania and i'm waiting your reply to talk about the price, shipping so one...
