    Default is there a work around for no LANC on hv20?

    hi ,


    was looking at purch HV20 but i see it has no LANC.

    is there an easy work around ?


    also wanted to use with scuba diving down the road so any work arounds for scuba diving ?

    Hi Joe, welcome to the forums. If you search around the forums a bit, you'll find answers to most of the questions you might have.

    For the scuba thing, someone once mentioned an underwater casing website on here. I'm sure if you scratch around you'll find it.

    I share your concern. I bought the HV20 for topside videography, but I just picked up a used underwater housing on ebay. I am adapting the mechanical controls and should be able to get access to everything including the white balance, but will not have zoom (I could probably get that going too, but I don't think I'll be using the zoom, only max wide angle). I will have to practice as well to get used to operating the controls. It is a pretty solid housing and is leakproof in the pool, but I will take it down to 90 feet or so without the camera just to make sure.



    The lack of a Lanc does hinder underwater housing choices, and as such a lot of the underwater folks are going with the Sonys, but I already have the HV20, so I am adapting. Besides, it has better low light sensitivity and 24p, big pluses for the underwater world.
