Default HD Export to Tape in Premiere Pro CS3

Finished a small snippet, then wanted to export it to HD. However, after plugging the cam in and such, the "Export to tape" option is still grayed out. Is it incapable of exporting HD to tape or am I doing something wrong?

Not sure about CS3, in CS2, there is a stupid thing. You have to click your mouse somewhere in the timeline before the File, Export, Export to Tape is selectable.

wow, that is really weird however it worked in CS3

I could have sworn I tried that yesterday, but I may/probably/definitely overlooked the concept of starting at the beginning of the timeline

    Thanks!

It doesn't have to be putting the current frame marker at the start of the timeline. It can be anywhere on the timeline. You only need to drop the mouse focus to the timeline then Premiere will let you export to tape.

Adobe has been doing this since Premiere early age. It could make sense.. say like, you have several AVIs in the project window. You can just click select one and choose Export to Tape. You don't need to necessary export only from the timeline.

    Glad I'm able to help.
