    Default FCP 5.0 Problem!

    Every time I try to export my footage (captured in 16:9), it will stretch it vertically, even when I select the "letterbox" option. What could I be doing wrong?

    HDV footage is anamorphic (it is 1080X1440 but is displayed as 1080X1920)

    What are you exporting to?

    Ok, 640X480 is not a widescreen aspect ratio. If you want 640, you can go to custom and specify 640X360 (that is a 16X9 square pixel aspect ratio) That should format correctly.

    aswell, take it off letter boxing, and use the option CROP. or else it can squish your image horizontally too.
