I'll see if I can rent that.

Yeah, Charlie is good value in any movie. His brief bit at the start of "Deep Impact" was right on the money. And he was solid in "Starman". Loved the cigar business he does near the end of that one.

Yep, right, Huey. I'll be going now; leave you to it.

But just one thing; if we ever could manage to "consider" existence rationally, I have a feeling it would instantly send us stark raving bonkers. Trying to look directly at one's own Existence, with no buffer in between, and to see it for what it really is, is probably risking one's sanity.

And with that uplifting thought, I'll be off.

Of course not... and if you read between the lines he pretty much said that too. He clearly stated he doesn't blame romney for the tax issues. He blames Congress (the USA) for allowing it... If congress allows it then you can't blame those for taking advantage of it.

You're beginning very much to sound like an Iraqi... "What do you mean Stoning someone is wrong.... it's written right in the law books!"

Ummm....How did this shift over to the idea she's not making enough money??? Her complaint is that her tax rate is higher than her bosses.... not that she is not making enough money. A raise from Warren will solve nothing. You will still have the low-middle income earners baring the brunt of the tax burden.

Lower Buffet's secretary's tax rate. There problem solved.

The government wastes far to much money on useless endeavours lke roads to nowhere. giving them more money isn't the answer.

Why do we need to Raise Buffet's rate, instead of LOWERING the secretary's rate?

If the difference in rates is what you are really concerned about, this solution should fix it just fine.

Yep, it is. Absolutely horrible and repulsive. A clear example why religion should have no effect whatsoever on laws.

Yet another example of why religion is so dangerous. You have one side willing to kill for it.... and another side willing to die for it. Pretty f*cking silly.

Ian, the story behind this is that the CERN scientists had only published data back in September. They didn't postulate at all that neutrinos are faster than light. That was done by the press.
The scientists only did what scientists do: If they see data that don't concur with anything known, they scratch their heads, then verify the data.... the results of the verification where published now.

Thanks for posting. Despite the easy access to stories like this one, for some unknown reason people still try to argue that Iran is no worse than the US or Israel and has religious freedom.

I don't know why people would make such a silly argument, but they do.

Don't you know that Gillvane is in contact with a mysterious group he refers to as 'the rest of us"? He's unable to define it, of course. But this phenomena provides the basis of rational discussion, in his mind at least.

I believe it was cgbier that said there is religious freedom on Iran, and it's no different than the US.

if cgbier says yes, Iran is a hellhole of religious intolerance compared to the US, EU, or Israel, then I'll agree with you.

Of course. The Iranian constitution from 1978 grants freedom of belief. If you really read the link, and follow that story a bit further, you'll find passages that this execution is against Iranian law. You will have to blame it on the judge, not the system.
However, this gentleman converted from islam to christianity - this is a big no-no, punishable with the death sentence. But it shows perfectly well how moronic organized religions are.
