Just worry about your own soul, man. In case of a loss of air pressure, oxygen masks will deploy. Fit your own mask before fitting your child's.
Serioiusly, I have no idea except that I have the duty to consider all the data available to me and search my soul for answers of what the truth really is.
I don't think you feel very secure about your beliefs actually. Otherwise you wouldn't ridicule things that you know other people consider holy. It's just basic common sense. By doing this you show you have a clear animosity, and animosity is a state from which rational decisions can't possibly be made.
Also, I don't think your ability to reason logically is as solid as it could be, based on our previous discussions. Or maybe you were just trying to play games (which is most likely the true explanation for it, since after all you are an engineer.)
I am sorry, but anger is even more destructive than animosity. You just made my point.
That's what happens when you move to Canada from the U.S. The sudden drop in crime around you and the mapple syrup fumes drive people crazy and they start thinking they need to protect their kids from the big man in the sky. Pathetic.
The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.
Fanatics like Ian and I? Really? Well, I can only speak for myself, but if I am the worst threat for your kids safety I can only say you live in an utopia.
Then again, shouldn't a father at least spend 5 minutes of his Saturday with his kids instead of talking to strangers and playing pathetic logic cat-and-mouse games in an Internet forum? Just a pointer from a concerned Christian fanatic.![]()

Science? Yes. Logic? No. The two are not the same.
You seem to have problems understanding that definitions can be exclusive as well as inclusive. We can define things on the basis that A) they belong to a class X but also on the basis that B) they do not belong to a class Y. For example, and atheist is anyone who is NOT a deist. Supernatural is something that is NOT natural.

Very well said, Huey. Yes, faith is necessary in order to believe in God. You cannot prove God. That being said, you can observe the data available to you and make a decision based on it. There is some degree of uncertainty, but to me the evidence supporting the existence of God is much stronger than the evidence supporting the non-existence of God.
It's 4am on Sunday morning here and my little one is sleeping. Earlier though we went tobogganing, watched a movie... went to the grandmother's... and a few other things.
As for you speaking for yourself... I hope it stays that way because you hear an awful lot about priests and child buggering.... religious nuts with bombs... etc.
Wow. Where do you find the energy to do all that? I mean, you did all these things with your kid, yet you have the energy to stay up until 4:00 AM on a Sunday morning?
I think you are too obsessed with religion being a bad thing. I personally am not a religious person (in the sense that I do not attend church.)
Science is to the Universe as Religion is to God. Both science and religion represent our half baked attempts to comprehend the universe and God. Science is not bad because Joseph Mengele performed scientific experiments with Jewish prisoners. Religion is not bad because some "priests" buggered some children.
Honestly, you are far too obsessed with religion.
