Thread: Set Iris to Wide Open, FPS to 24P and Shutter to 1/48th?

Default Set Iris to Wide Open, FPS to 24P and Shutter to 1/48th?

I haven't purchased my HV-20 yet. But I am wondering how easy is it to set the camera to 24P, 1/48th shutter and a wide open iris. I imagine, depeding on the light, neutral density filters may be needed.

But is this level of manual control possible?

Also, does Portrait Mode choose the widest possible iris, or just a wider than normal one?

    Thanks much!

Yep it is, with a little trickery. I have PAL model, while on CineMode i get 25p, full apreture, 1/50, zero gain by first putting a cap on the lens, locking the exposure and then manually setting it to -11.

Instead of ND filters, i strongly suggest buying two linear polarizers- see this theread for more:

It's a very interesting approach, and one I'll try. Thanks a lot!
