Default Vegas 7 vs Vegas 7 educational version?

I just bought this Vegas on eBay this morning:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320105963957

The description mentioned that it's not the educational version. Is there a difference between the different versions?

I bought this without taking the time to check because it looked like a great price, and I was afraid I'd lose it if I waited, even though I'm still learning (very slowly) with the trial version and am not ever sure I will ultimately use it much.

So my question is: is the education version different than this one?

VEGAS is a great program, and that looks like a good price.
I'm sure they'll be updating their software soon, as Adobe and Apple have now done, but with the version you bought you will be able to upgrade for less money, so it should work out for you, no matter if you stick with 7, or want to get the latest.

    Thanks for your reply Mal,

But I'm still curious what the difference might be between this and the educational version. The eBay sale mentions that it's not the educational version, so now I'm wondering if that version has more or less 'meat'.

I had been thinking about a way to buy the 'education' version and but when I saw this on eBay I decided to act because the price is the lowest I've seen anywhere.

Oh, and educational versions of software are IDENTICAL to NON-academic versions, just with different licensing.
When you buy educational software you first must prove that you are entitled to it (i.e. student card, etc.)

wow I always wondered that,if we really WERE getting a full version. O f course the salemen say yes and it says so on the product's box and website........but theyre actually selling the stuff. I'm a teacher and get educational software whenever I can.......but I always had that niggle at the back of my mind
    Thanks for clearing it up.

My educational version of Adobe production Studio does lack some of the features of the full version - some 3rd party plug ins are missing, for example - but those functions that are missing are not particularly significant.

My licence explicitly says I cannot use the software for commercial gain.

But I have no idea what the educational version of Vegas says. I doubt that there is anything missing from it though. Vegas is such a neat, well programmed application. I love it. So easy, rarely crashes. Incredible value for money.

    Worley.
