image flashing from color to blue tint, to posterized blue tint
I have a HV30 and have recorded an hour of footage with no hitch, but today after recording on my second tape, the image started cycling from normal color, to a blue tinted image, to a posterized image, and so on. It appears like that both on the lcd and in the viewfinder. Any ideas? I bought it to film my honeymoon which is happening in 3 weeks from today
. Thanks

Same thing happened to mine for a few seconds at a time on the first day I got it. That was about a month ago, but it hasn't happened since and I've recorded about 2 tapes now. I have no idea what it was, but it seems to be gone now (knock on wood...).

still not working
Cool, well at least that sounds like it might be something that can be fixed. Mine is still doing it though. I've changed batteries and tried reset, played with all the settings. Nothing is helping.

Could be a partial clogged head, run a dv tape cleaner through the transport for ten seconds or so.. if this does not help, then the problem is probally electronic in nature.

Tried a dv tape cleaner but still not working. Happens whether there is a tape in the camera or not. Seems to definately be a hardware thing. Is there any way to like "reboot" the camera? Not just a reset but like a bios flash or something?

Wah! My brand spankin' new HV20 has just started doing the same thing! Everything has a blue tint, LCD, EVF, tape mode and miniSD mode. All settings, same thing. No change resetting the camera.
I guess I'll be taking it back. I wonder if the shop is out of HV20s if I'll be upgraded to an HV30?

So I let the camera rest overnight (ie from 2am until 8am) and almost six hours later it has come good again. Lucky too, I needed to do some filming today.
Nevertheless, not happy if it's going to do that without warning...
