    Hi, Jehu.

I really like your LCD flip mod and would like to have one of my HV20 hacked.
The only concern is that I've already destroyed the inside switches of the LCD while trying to do the hack myself.

    Would that be a problem?

    All the best,
    ~Twoneil

Jehugarcia, I removed your mailing address in the first post. Hope you don't mind.

    Hi Twoneil, What an honor,
    Destroyed switches are no problem.
Infact i've discovered that if you leave them intact the hack does not entirely work. If switches remain you can shoot with dof and flip image on the lcd while the lcd is facing the back of the camera but as soon as you want to shoot yourself or behind you and you flip lcd to face toward the front of the camera then image is upside down and flipping the hack switch does not fix it becouse original switch is engaged, So disabling the original switches fixes this and it gives you total control of the LCD image on your camera.

    Yee-Haw!!!

(I'm allowed to say that as I live just a few miles from Yeehaw Junction.)

Thanks a heap, Jehu. I'm amazed it's arrived so quickly, but also grateful.

    Yet again, I can't wait!

    Thanks

Jehugarcia, would you happen to know if you can use very wide and slow lenses with your adapter without vignetting? Say, a 15-30mm f3.5? Because I'm interested but I sold all my lenses and only own 2 zooms now...a 15-30mm f3.5 and a 28-70mm f2.8.

Chip good news your hack and adapter is ready, will box it up tonight and ship it in the morning.

Everyone else Thank you for your orders, i'm working really hard to try and get them out of here in a timely manner, Some parts are taking longer to arrive than expected but once here i think i will be able to stay ahead of the game and stock units so they could ship out as they are placed, Once again thank you guys. If you have received yours please post your thoughts, i know there is a lot of room for improvement and the design will be changing to reflect this improvements, so if you get your unit and its not exactly what you've seen in pictures keep in mind that this is why.

Yes this lenses will work but only in well lit conditions, daytime, outside, or using video lights if inside. I've used a 20mm 2.8 and it works great.

Yes i tried using a 62mm macro lens then stepping down to 58mm for using on my brothers vx2000 sony. So this set up could probably work for some of the other bigger cams out there. But i have not tried it. I might start offering this acromat for other to try it on their cams, if your interested let me know we can work something out.

hey jehu. whats the threading at the back? if it has a proper threading, im sure extension rings could be attached to make it work for bigger cams.

Yes it shouldn't interfere in any way, it would allow you to monitor using your existing LCD on your camera, saving you $ by not having to buy external monitor.

    Default Changes in option setting...

By adding adapter(s) or making any modifications to the HV20/HV30 Cam would you need to remove any existing part(s) and discard of it and or feature(s) that's already built in to the HV30 cam.
    Thanks.

No, no parts discarded, the only feature you can't use while shooting with dof is that long zoom built into camera, your limited to 35mm lens zoom if any, but its a trade off, give up zoom for beautiful images, well worth in my opinion.

    Hey jehu,

I'm quite impressed with your adapter. I'm going to Paypal you tonight. What is the expected shipment time right now?

right now about 10 days, I apologize to everyone who place orders on the 2nd and were expecting a shipping email from me today, just waiting for one more part all the way from china.

But i plan on stocking adapters so there is no lead time I hate making people wait because i myself don't like waiting, so at the very least the 10 day wait will be reduced.

    Default Q's...

I think your work is what I had in mind when looking to add to my HV30 cam.
Not to discourage the sales or interest of what you are producing, I appreciate what you have to share with others. In regards to your service my intentions are simply to get as much information as possible before I make any quick purchase(s) So I have a few questions to ask if you don't mind. And by the way I am new and a noobie to this forum and to all this cine/movie making bizz.
What is the purpose to the flip hack?
Can you place the switch in a diffrent location?
I like the ending product on the HV30. I noticed the look of the HV20 differs from the look of the HV30 from the pictures you provided? Why? and can I get the HV30 looking the way you have modified the HV20 from picture you posted?
I notice the Adapter in one of the pictures has a switch on the adapter, Is this right? You place the switch on the adapter vs. on top of the camera, can this be done?
If a client is not happy with the way it looks, works, or change's his mind for any reason can you make changes or is it a final "as is" "final product sale"
You mentioned when filming or when recording, one would need to have the camera upside down in order to prevent from doing any fixing from computer?
Thanks in advance for you time and answers.
hope on doing business with you in the near future.

Will the Merlin steadicam conflict with new adapter or adjustments?
    Thanks.
