Show off your studio / workstation here. I'm trying to re-do mine, would love to get some ideas.

    Thanks!

inphluence I'd have to say, I'm jealous of your studio the most, it's very clean and organized. Cool looking.

Haha, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that image was "Photoshop". It kinda does look fake, but you never know.

shows my inventive set up. The hisssss is because this was shot
with a Canon TZ5, which offers only lisping, hissy audio: worst digcam sound, ever.

This extending arm allows me to lay reclined in a lightweight Lafuma brand mesh-back recliner.

Zero gravity chairs and swing arms make computing/editing a breeze,
and is good for the blood circulation.
Sitting upright at a chair all day makes for bad health in time.

When I get up... I just swing the whole monitor away from me.
My entire computer work table (a $50 roll-around) top is clear of clutter.
The PC tower sits on the lower, partial shelf, just above ground.
The video shows the general idea.

I compute I compute I compute in a cluttered two car garage.
I compute that I have no pride nor shame.
I KNOW that this set-up would be a boon to any home user.
You have your keyboard in your lap and type-cast away.

    Cheers,

    The modest Genius

PS: since that video was made I got a set of Harmon Kardon Soundsticks II,
mounting the ring-base-removed speakers, one on each side of the monitor,
using 1/4" thick foam board and double stick foam tape.

    (stock image)
LOOKS great, and sounds good enough, much better than outboard speakers
that formerly were far off axis from this swing-arm monitor.

Note that in the video above I explain that I have mounted the monitor UPSIDE DOWN.

Why? Because of the very narrow, usable, vertical viewing angle of any LCD monitor.
ALL of them are designed to be best-viewed with the viewer's eyes a couple of inches above
the top edge of the monitor, then angled as best you like.

In my set up, my eye level is =below= the bottom edge of the screen.
    If not for inverting the monitor, I would see only a sort of solarized image;
this owes to the nature of LCD monitors' polarization of light principle.

All of them have relatively wide horizontal viewable angles.
None can have wide range in the vertical range.

So, my monitor is upside down, and raised and swung UP above my eyes' level.
I get perfect comfort and perfect viewing and a clear desk top.

Plus, at a moment's notice, I can swing and relocate the monitor
to the usual, "i'm a prisoner of my computer desk" configuration.
I don't have to do that anymore.

Free at last, free of hassles at last....I even sleep in this chair....it's good for a bad back.

For me, it is the transparent bricks on the left of the window. Oh, and the fact that the lens distortion on wide-angle affects the windows, but not the scenery. Dead giveaway.

Haha nice observation. I didn't pay attention to either of those.

Nice... If I did that I would never get any work done because I would be mesmerized by the pretty blue color. Or by making shadow puppets.

Nice setup and equipment, for sure, but what's with those ugly-ass speaker shelves and brackets?
