Wide angle lens suggession for DSLR

I am using Tamron 17-50 mm f/2.8 lens and T3i for events along with my HV30.
It is difficult to get more people in the frame using this lens in a tight indoor situations, so I am seriously considering Wide angel lens. My main consideration is Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 lens or Tamron 10-24 mm which is f/3.5. :( or can I use any old lens with EOS adapter will do? Experienced forum members input would be really appreciated.

According to our friends at CanonRumors.com in June Canon is announcing two cameras, one will supposedly be the T4i/650d and the other will supposedly be a Canon mirrorless entry. http://www.canonrumors.com/2012/05/c...s-in-june-cr2/

I for one look forward to what the t4i has to offer. Again, these are rumors, so treat them as such, and get overly excited.

Normalizer in FCP?

I was watching some Larry Jordan tutorials today, in one he demonstrates normalizing in FCP.

Darn it for all these years I've been outsourcing this operation, because I thought FCP didn't have this. It's not in effects, audio filters, which is where I'd expect it to be. Turns out that it's under modify, audio. You can also pan center here.

Ah well!
Just in case I'm not the only one who didn't this, I thought I'd pass it on.

Of course now I'm going to feel even more foolish when it turns out that this is common knowledge :hv20-smilie51:

Vegas MS HD Platinum 11 MTS: Creating intermediates to go to Vegas 7 pro?

I got to some test shooting with my recently purchased (used) HF100
and discovered Vegas 7 pro doesn't read .MTS

... so I'm thinking Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 might be the quick and cheap answer.

Will Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 allow me to use MTS on it's timeline and then render that
to .avi with Lagarith so that I can use the footage in Vegas 7 pro?

surveillance footage.. time passage

I need to make some footage appear to have passed for several hours..

I know how to do time code in premiere.. but I want to be able to do this without actually creating say 6 hrs of footage... any suggestions?

the character is going to fast forward through it.

Filming Under Harsh Lighting Conditions

I do hitting instruction and some scouting and often film ballplayers at major league ballparks. I am having two problems that I haven't been able to fix.

1. In some cases, greys will have a blue tint to them when shooting at night. This isn't a big deal, but I'd like to fix it. It may be that I need to get a white balance card. However, the issue is that the lighting changes over the course of the game as the sun sets. I guess I may need to re-balance several times during the night. However, the challenge is that I'm often shooting from a position with different lighting than is on the field.

2. I have bigger image problems when filming during the day, particularly when shooting from a heavily shaded position. The image often gets very harsh and contrast-y and the color balance is off, with reds turn orange. I also have some problems when shooting right next to shadowed areas, as when the shadow is just about to cross the plate. The auto-focus often has a very hard time getting the focus right. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
