I'm new to all this, but I understand everything (in general). I'm not so much a writer, but i'm a decent D.O.P./Camera op.
Maybe not for this current round, but for upcoming rounds, is anyone else here in T.O.?
Also, I have an HV20 with 35mm adapter on it's way from AlexeiP (Canon) as well as Canon Lenses.

Sweet. We should put our heads together over the next while and maybe even write & shoot some shorts to learn the ropes so we can compete in the next comp.

There's two weeks left, you could get in on this one. That's a lot more time that we get with the 48hr film project (http://www.48hourfilm.com), and that's enough time to bang out a short.. ;)

I'm pretty busy, and not really a "filmmaker". You'd call me more of a "Videographer".
Shall we try anyways?

Videographer is more than enough in my opinion, otherwise, we should be in the RED forum instead of hv20. This is pretty new to me too. I'd call myself a photographer in transition. Maybe we should wait for the next one, but up to u guys

"Photographer in transition" describes me pretty well too. I shoot for clients at least a few times a month at the moment, on top of my full time job.
So, are we doing this? :hv20-smilie77:

Ding. We've got quite a network going.
We could very easily do a short dramatic film with multiple cameras, and have to do a minimum amount of takes to get everything...

Hi fellow Ontarians! Im from Peterborough, a little far I know but Im always willing to commute to learn from more "seasoned" filmmakers. I am very very new to this, I make my own series on youtube called "The Life of a Trucker" and I'm learning something new everyday about filming and of course the hardest part, editing. Im not always free due to my job constraints but if you need help and have plenty of time to give me notice, I can be there. Me thinks a GTA HV20 Club might be a practical thing in the future??

Hey, guys. I'm from Ottawa!
I recently finished a new short film with my little HV20.
I'm especially looking for comments from anyone who didn't see the first 6 minute cut. This one is 7m:50sec
You can find it in the HV20 Footage forum. HERE (http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=14391)
I would love to collaborate with someone from this forum sometime.

Anyone in Toronto/Brampton/Mississauga area willing to rent out their HV20?
I'm in need of a second HV20 to shoot from a second angle during dialogue for a no-budget web series I'm working on. I was considering buying a second hv20 but I only really need the second camera for about a 2-week period this month and can't justify the purchase since my need is only temporary.
Obviously I'd be willing to pay for the rental and naturally I'd be willing to put down a deposit or some kind of collateral as well. I'd be more than willing to allow the owner be 'on set' as well if anyone has any interest in helping out etc.
The shoot is in Toronto, I live in Brampton.

Yo pete, I just checked out your site...dude... that's some high quality costume work. Colour me impressed (and intrigued); what's the purchase and/or rental cost of an entire predator outfit?

hey why don't we start a Toronto meetup of filmmakers/videographers who have hv20/30/40s?
we could check out each other's mods and share ideas.
just a thought

Yeah a meet up is in order, all this forum talk is nothing! :P
I'm going to assume that downtown Toronto is the best place for everyone to meet?
