hey guys been looking at the Hv30 latley :eek: amazing quality, BUT it uses mini Dv instead of a hdd Iv been looking around in shops for this cam and cannot seem to find it everywhere sells mostly hdd Is this better then dv.
will dv end up like video tapes like will they stop being made or will the the actualy tape as it gets old ruin the quality if you guys could point me in the right direction?.

This is just the recording medium. These days people burn DVDs or Blu-Rays or export for the web. It doesn't really matter how the camera originally captures.

The HV20/30 so far have the best quality than any other consumer camera, so if you are after quality, go with it. If you are after convenience get an AVCHD camera.
