My camera recently went belly up and I'm sending it in for repair. In the meantime I'll have plenty of time to do a lot of editing. I know most people on here seem to use Vimeo to upload their footage, and so do I, but lately that site has become problematic to use.
What other video sharing sites are people on here using...besides Youtube and Vimeo? A few months in internet is lots of time for popularity and technology to shift.
Anyone using diy projectors to show off their stuff?
Anyone selling any DVD's of their work?

One way to show off work is to submit work to contests and festivals.

I use XH-A1 and HV30 for weddings author in DVD. If you want I can send you a copy of the DVD. You just have to pay me back shipping and material cost.

I've not been trying to sell any of my recordings but I have been posting videos I shoot at bluegrass festivals up on my website for the past 3 years. As I get better and my equipment gets better, I may try and sell my videos to the performers that I recorded. They in turn can mark them up and resell them at the festivals they perform at. I have always posted my files rendered as WMA files.
My basic standard right now that I render and post is 640X480X500kbs. I would go higher resolution but I want the client to be able see any of my videos streaming without the need to download in order to watch. I have viewed a lot of videos including those on YouTube and I feel it's agrivating to have to see the video stop a lot for buffering.
I have also rendered a number of the shows I have shot, to a DVD for my own viewing enjoyment at a higher resolution than can be posted on my website. I have the ability to produce HD DVD & or Blu-ray formats on standard DVDs. I may produce some of my newer shows in these formats for resale. They would need to be produced as 2 DVD set since HiDef video requres more disk storage per minute. I have a Primera Bravo SE Publisher for quality labeled & duplicated DVDs for small quantity producions. I'll probably invest in a Primera Blu-ray publisher sometime in the future when the Blu-ray meda prices become reasonable -- $1 to $2 each or less.
In general, I'm happy with my content and video composition but I still have a lot to learn and keep striving to improve sound and video quality. If you get into my video section, there is a lot to view.

I'm not sure exactly what you were getting at with your question but this is how I show off my videos.
I'm also not sure what you mean by diy projectors but yes, I own a HiDef Optoma projector and I have made a diy screen I can setup by my tent when I'm camping at festivals to show off videos. I use a white sheet, fitted with a rod at the top to hang from limbs of a tree and a rod at the bottom to stretch the sheet out. Makes a great portable projector screen both refective with front view projection and translucent as a rear projected screen. Certainly not as good as commercially made screen but hey when your out amongts the lightning bugs, who cares.

I came across a company called CreateSpace, used to be CustomFlix. Just go to createspace.com. They will take your DVD and distribute it for you on Amazon. It's the easiest way to get your project packaged and sold to the public without you having to lift a finger (after your DVD is authored of course). You can also sell off of your own website. I sell some relaxation videos this way and am planning to do more very soon.

Whenever I create something more art-like, a cocktail bar shows them for free during the evenings/nights with other stuff from other people.
I've had quite a lot of positive responce from it, and it's a great way to reach a wide public.
Anyone can send in their work, check out their website (http://www.limonada.be/) if you're interested.

There are sites that will pay you if your video is good enough to get plenty of hits.

This link also comes from the link above but just in case you miss it:

Remember the Diet Coke and the Mentos video. I read that they got over $25 thousand because like a million people watched it.
Apparently there are several of these videos now available on the Net. Just Google, "popular video diet coke and mentos."
