Unlikely, about the cost. I've been admining the Redrock forums for almost two years. For free. These guys are out to make quality tools that the indie filmmaker can afford.

Okay, this ain't pretty like the Redrock, but I cobbled a set up together to do the same things... Set mounts for tripod shooting, or goes hand held.

Chris - all I can say is you are one determined dude (or maybe you just have alot of time on your hands :hv20-smilie03:) Good job! How much does that thing weigh?

And could you explain what the bicycle handle bar is used for? I thought maybe when the rig is not on the tripod or something?

Looks like about the most juryrigged HV20 I have seen.

Hey Peter, imagine running into you here.... The whole thing weighs about 10 pounds, if my bathroom scale is right-- about the weight of a sack of potatoes.

Yes, it is for hand holding the shot, like the RedRock m2 rig that started this thread. In the film I recently shot with the rig, it was clear I needed to add something to my flip rig to make handholding/shoulder shooting more stable. I think this will do the trick.


They are not handle bars from a bike, though the grips are a Walmart grip for bikes. These turned out to be a bit soft, so I am going to change them, because the cut real easy when I was putting them on.

The bars are actually fashioned form a light weight hanger you can buy in the hardware section and Home Depot, to hang thing on a wall, like hoses, etc. I just cut one end off and mounted it on the bottom of the rig I had originally designed by adding a couple of pieces of square aluminum tubing.
