This is my first post on this great site and I thought I would post some HV20 footage from the Norfolk Harborfest/Parade of Sail 2007. This was shot with the fireworks mode of the camcorder and I think turned out nice.

I was using the Canon DM-50 microphone and was dissapointed that it did not pick up the low end of the fireworks. I just picked up the Rode SVM for my next outing and hope it does better than the Canon DM-50 for the full frequency range.

This clip has the finale of the fireworks.

This is my first post on this great site

Firstly, welcome to the site, wesman! :hv20-smilie77:
Secondly, thanks for sharing your clip, the framing was absolutely spot on. I liked that there was no exposure hunting, did you use the fireworks setting?

That last firework looked like a lonely sperm who got lost. :hv20-smilie81:

I had the camera on the fireworks setting and I think it did a great job with the exposure. I also used manual focus. I scouted out the site for this video and stayed there for a couple hours before the fireworks began.

Nice work. I assume you locked your exposure. But how did you set it to begin with? Oh - I see. In fireworks mode the camera selects the exposure for you.

That was really nice footage. Much better than I expected the 'Fireworks' setting to be.

Yeah, that last firework looked lost and a little sorry for itself.
