I have yet to find a thread that answers my answers specifically so here it is. Now i have this great camera in my possession the HV20. Im all excited right? Ok so i want to make a DVD, which I have made before but 720 x 480. My question is how do I make it so there is no distortion HD.
Meaning I want to do everything in HD so what is that specific workflow?
Will people be able to see the DVD that DON'T have HD?
Do you need black bars?
Do you film in HD and shrink the .mov after to use black bars?
Has anyone ever reverse telecine through Compressor?
I want to utilize 24p throughout. the pulldown removal will make my footage jittery. Will that happen in FCP? Is there a preset that WON'T drop frames in FCP or better yet when I export from Compressor what is the best compression to use? What has worked for you guys? Is the Cineform worth it? thats like $399 with the HV20 discount but still $399 is alot when I want to get the external HD DIY 12"Screen. ;)
(Im on a dual 1.8 ghz G5...BUT about to get in the next couple weeks a 2.8 ghz 8core G5 with 8gigs of ram and the Nvidia 8800 card)
Im sure you guys have heard these questions before I am sorry but I dont want to start filming to end up screwing something up at the end. So thats why I like to know what I should and shouldnt do and anything you can do to ease my worries would be awesome!!! thanks a million!:hv20-smilie15:
PS: Do you even NEED to reverse telecine? This footage is going straight to dvd with little color adjustment, cutting up footage, adding music and done. If so... what setting do i use in FCP Studio 2?
