Where is the best place to buy this and is it really required for outside use? Prefer under $50.

Would the videomic work for outside shooting or just interviews?

Depends on which VideoMic you have...the Stereo version uses the Dead Kitten (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/470272-REG/Rode_DEADKITTEN_Dead_Kitten_WindMuff.html) and the Shotgun one uses the Dead Cat (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/392861-REG/Rode_DEADCAT_Wind_Muff.html). I never knew that there was a separate Dead Kitten (smaller size) until now...heh.

I have not personally used either of these, but if I had a VideoMic I would get them. They effectively cut down the wind noise, and look REALLY cool IMO. If I had one, I'd just leave it on at all times.

I bought one from these people via ebay for my DM50 as I could not find a compatible one anywhere else.

thewindcutter.com claims they will make custom wind screen for any camera/mike. I got on for my DM50 and it fits and works great.
