Hey guys,

so im finnally getting the HV20 in just a few more days, and naturally im thinking of everything i should get to make it that much better!

so im sold on a wide angle lense, im eye-ing the Raynox pro 6600, the price is in my range and the WD-H43's price step up is a little too steep for my shoes! but heres the main question:

With the 6600 or even the WD-H43, is there a decent Mic out there (nothing amazing, somewhere around 100-200$) that i can use without it being seen by the wide angle??

I wanted to get the SENNHEISER MKE-300 but it looks like it sticks WAY out infront of the lense, does anyone use this mic with a wide angle lense too???

if not, the Canon DM-50 looks short enough, but is the quality THAT much better than the internal? i've seen a lot of negative feedback on this mic... (wind noise etc.)

Well I use a Sennheiser 416 which is quite a bit longer than the MKE-300 WITH a Phantom to T-Power adapter on the back and it all sits there quite comfortably. ( The shoe for holding the mic is set quite far back on the HV-20). I haven't got the W/A yet (no supplies in the UK) but I don't reckon theres gonna be any problem.

I'm able to use the AT897 shotgun mic on-camera in a Rode SM3 shockmount with or without the Canon wide angle (WD-H43) adapter without it creeping into the image. The AT897 is approx 11" long (I think about 5" extends past the front of the WD-H43 when it's mounted on the HV20 hot shoe). I was kind of fooling around and realized that you could go almost 10-12" beyond the front of the adapter before the mic would show.
