Hey, I'm trying to create a flash intro with my production name so I can put it before my short films begin.

Any idea how I can do this?

After effects is one way a lot of people do it. There should be plenty of tutorials floating online.

like Adobe Flash?

if so, your going to need the program...then you can export the flash as an avi and import that into your editing program.

Theres the macromedia flash program and adobe after effects that i'd recommend. and yes u just export the sequence to whatever format you need and just import that onto your editing software.

What is the proper term for the intro of your production company?

I'm not really sure - I've always called those "Video Logos" but I can't really say if I heard that somewhere or made that up :)

I'd beinterested to actually know too - hehe

I payed someone $50 off craigslist for one once. So unless you plan on making a half dozen films a year, you don't need to spend several hundred dollars on that software.

Here are some of the formats you can export Flash content to:

.flv
.swf
.mov
.avi

Can you give me a link so I can see an example of exactly what you are talking about: this intro.

Like the intros for FOX studios. The searchlight and stuff. And then the one for MGM, the lion. I'm talking about those production intros.

Sorry if any of you guys misunderstood me.

I'm sure there are a few people on this forum that'd be willing to help you out, me included (as well as sabahsefer). Feel free to PM.

I just found out what these are called: a studio's production logo.

You can do it in Flash, certainly. You can do any number of things especially with layers. You are only limited by your own imagination.

Did you have a vision for your production logo? What is the name you will be using? Do you have a trade mark like: "We do chicken right." Is there a theme or mood that you want to communicate to your audience when they watch your films? Etc.
