View Full Version : XH-A1 and HV10 and HV30
I own two HX-A1's and one HV10. They all work great with 24F. The HV10 is great for importing 24F footage. I am considering purchasing the HV30 but notice the 24F is gone.
Can I import the 24P and 30P footage for editing using the HV10 or do I have to use the HV30 for importing to the time line?
Also can I use 24P and 30P footage together on a time line with 60i footage?
I use Premiere Pro 2.

When you say "import" you mean "capture" right?
What do you mean by "24F is gone" ? This is the list of playback mode supported by HV30 (listed on CanonDV.com)
Supported Playback Modes: 1080/60i, 1080/24p, 1080/30F, 1080/24F, 1080/30p
HV20/30's PF24 footage is indeed 60i (30fps) and 30p is also 30fps. So you can use them on a 60i timeline.

Taky, I know you were working on matching your footage from your hv20 and xh-A1, have you made any progress?

So if I use a HV30 to record 1080/24P and plug the tape into a HV10 for capture/playback, do I lose anything?
Just want to verify that if I pick up a cheap HV10 for a backup camera and also use it as a capture deck, I don't loose any of the HV30 features/advantages in the translation.
I searched the forum and found the question asked a few times but did not find an answer.
Thanks
