I just received my HV20 (PAL), I have shot a couple of minutes and I wanted to play with my PC but I could not connect to any SW.... ops
I tried Vegas, windows movie maker, etc... nothing, ops again...
After connecting and disconnecting the cable hundreds of times, ... It worked only when I locked to DV, but in HDV never worked.... ops, ops...
on and off, reboot, etc....
then I found out the problem...
by default windows uses the IEEE microsoft driver which does not work in HDV,
and to see that it easy in Sony vegas SW.
If you go in properties by default to acquire uses an external SW which works only with the microsoft driver. If you get rid of the tick on that option vegas uses the internal module which onits side uses a different driver.
Only in that way it is possible to acquire HDV without any proble... now it works.
Finding out that earlier I wouldn't uninstall premiere...
