Hey all, I just purchased a HV20 a few days ago after doing heavy research on camcorders, as I've been looking to get into making independent films and such. (yay background!) I struggled for a few hours to get the HDV windows XP drivers (SP2 and stuff, needed some .sys files).
Then I set out and got the Sony Vegas 7 trial once I confirmed that the trial could do everything I wanted :D
Now I can get crystal clear huge .m2t files from the camera, and ran some default template renders like HDV 1080-60i intermediate, HDV 720-24p intermediate, blah blah, just basic things, and yes I made sure the source video was the appropriate framerate / format :)
Of course, doing these gives me enourmouse 800 mb files for a few minutes of footage, but have tons of grain...now since the .m2ts are crystal and huge just like they should be...I figure the problem is the settings in Vegas (for rendering, not importing).
Anyone got any personal settings they use to render that you'd like to share with me to try out? :S
