I've been working with the HV20 and a new Letus35 I bought. One issue is the flip issue. I built a prototype device shown in the photo attached to mount camera with Letus35 upside down.
One issue I am seeing with the HV20 and Letus is a pulsation in reds. I am curious if anyone else is seeing this anywhere, whether with an adapter or not.
It shows up in this video, which was shot with the Letus, and a Nikon F1.4 50mm lens: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y2763PSV
I upload at megaupload, unless someone tells me there is a way to post footage on this forum.
With the exception of the red issue I am working on relieving, I think this clip shows some great promise in marrying HV20 with 35mm adapters.

NICE HV20 flip device!
- you can ftp to hv20.info
- use anonymous as login and password
- max file size is 250MB
- please only upload HV20 related material (I'll keep an eye out for unrelated items and remove them)
- use a free ftp program to upload, such as FileZilla on the PC: http://www.download.com/FileZilla/30...ml?tag=lst-3-7
- once you've uploaded, your file will NOT show up in the folder, as it's anonymous
- you need to link to your file like this: http://hv20.info/yopu/yourfilename.extention (example: http://hv20.info/yopu/hello.gif )
from http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=36

Thanks MAL, I will attempt the transfer. I've posted some early tests over at DVInfo, comparing my experiences as a Sony user coming over to a Canon for the first time.

Okay, I tried upload to HV20.info as suggested by Mal. Here it is:

(Note: First upload resulted in only partial upload of the file. I reuploaded with a new name, and received confirmation of full uploan. Link about is correct for new file.)

CBarce, how did you make you letus flip device? Is it something off the shelf at Home Depot that you modified or something you fabricated?

Looks like a bent piece of metal to me. My guess is that it was something he 'fabricated'.

It would be nice to know what it was fabricated from and what parts he used. I would like to build one myself.

If you go to a Lowes or Home Depot, you should easily be able to find a flat piece of metal (probably aluminum). Put it into a vise. Bend it. Move a different section to the vise, bend it again. Repeat as necessary.
Put bolts through it. Pick up a piece of scrap wood for Letus/lens support and voila, you've got the basically same thing you're seeing in that picture. My guess is that it cost about $10 to make, $20 tops.

CBarce,
How are you dealing with the patterning that comes from the design of the Letus35A?
Since the GG is being pulled down by gravity, it creates a pattern when viewed against white surfaces etc. Did you do anything to combat this? Also, are you using the original GG? The original Achromat?
