Hi everyone,

My camera arrived yesterday so am going to spend today having a play around with it. One question though... I didnt seem to get a firewire cable with the camera and I think that this is the only way I can get fiitage into the Mac to edit. I tried the USB but it didnt work - it wasnt recognised by the Mac. Are you supposed to get a firewire cable with the camera and if not is there any where you can suggest I can buy one... I am in the UK.

Oh and I see there are two types of cable for transfer....6pin and 4pin firewire... which one would I need to import footage into my Mac Poweerbook?

You have to use firewire. the connection from the HV20 is 4pin firewire, but I'm not sure what your Mac has. If the firewire port is not the same as the 4pin on the HV20, then it is most likely 6pin. My local target sold a firewire cable that came with 6pin>4pin adapaters, so you might want to consider getting a cable like that. Otherwise, I'm guessing you need a 6pin-4pin cable (if on a desktop), or 4pin-4pin (of on a laptop).

Thanks Luther. I have a firewire 6 pin cable now and now I have encountered another problem. I have a Mac Powerbook 1.67G with with 1GB RAM running OSX 10.4.9
iMovie HD recognises the camera and imports footage ok although it runs at half speed when importing. However when I play it back or try to export it the sound plays in time with the footage but plays like I have a voice an octave lower...the footage looks amazing but can anyone explain why the sound is playing like its been timestretched....???
