HV20 + PS3 m2t file playback at 3/4 speed

I am new to videography and the HV20
and I am having problems of playback.
I used HDVsplit .77 to rip a m2t file directly from the Hv20
The video was shot in the HD 24P mode.
The short test file was then burned onto a CD-R and placed into my PS3 V1.8
The video playback appeared to be 3/4 speed and the audio was choppy.
I downloaded another file in 24P and it looked like it did the same
Can anyone enlighten me on the situation or what I am doing wrong???
I am using the component video from the PS3 to play on my Sony TV.
I looked at the data rate and it was something like 1.5M/s

Try copying the file to the PS3s hard drive. I had a similar problem - cds don't seem to be fast enough. A dual-layer DVD works for archiving about 40 minutes of HV footage.
