I've been following this forum for awhile now. And I am planning on purchasing an HV20 soon. I just wanted to let everyone know they can find a great price on one here

*URL removed*

The price has actually dropped 40$ in the last two weeks because of the release of the HV30. Good Luck and Enjoy

There's one born every minute.....

Do you really think that you can find a legitimate deal on the HV20 that's $300 less than what the legit places like B&H are asking?

Check out resellerratings.com, the store rating is .11 out of 10. That POINT eleven.

Can someone ban this guy?

Can someone ban this guy?

Why don't you just leave that to the mods? You had read the title, you knew what was he going to ask, if you didn't like it, you can always choose not to read, not like moderators/admins who have to read each and every one of our messages, no matter if they are written by newbies, or if they don't help at all (like what you wrote above).

Hope it doesn't sound too harsh... it's just when I read some noob topic title, either I choose not to read it, or in worst cases I read and reply: "search". But I always know it's not my job to say who's banned or not.

Sorry for the mood. Been sick in bed for a week now, with such a pain I can't even sleep.

Rating is 0.11 out of 10. Are you kidding me?

Yeah, stay FAR away from that one. What to look out for is when you order, they ALWAYS want you to buy their cheap accessories. Which just ups the price to where you might as well buy from a legitimate merchant. I've had my share of times with websites like these.

Somebody might want to edit the replies that have the URL too...

Just remember the old adage,
If it sounds too good to be true... avoid it like the plague. :)

Has anyone ever heard of MAP pricing.

Its the Minimum advertised pricing . That a dealer can post as their price. I'm pretty positive that web site is BIG TIME violating MAP. I don't know what type of MAP pricing Canon has. But I'm sure they have it. If they didn't BH and Amazon would be alot lower.

Just a thought to keep in mind...

I apologize for my words. They were born out of a more light-hearted and sarcastic intent, but I certainly understand your perspective. For the record, the best thing to do is use that handy REPORT button.

A contribution is a contribution all the same. This idea that a veteran forum member makes more meaningful contributions than a newbie is just insane. I thought the glory of the internet was escaping from such social hierarchies, not reconstituting them in a new form.

Violating a MAP agreement is the least of this scammer's problems. All the relevant information here has already been stickied. No sympathy for folks who can't read the first freaking thread on this forum.

That's exactly my point.

I must agree on this. But there's a whole bunch of people who doesn't, and my choice is just not to read their messages.

You know, I think Ian-T got it right and the OP is a shill for that place. I wonder if he posted the same thing to the HV20 forum at camcorderinfo.com?

I am not sure what i did to get everyone's panties in a bunch? I have been following the price of this camera for 5 months. I don't see the problem reporting on something I feel is noteworthy. As far as utilizing this forum as a tool, I would like to continue using it, but people make comments about banning someone for a legitimate comment with no malice and nothing to gain, I feel is just plain mean. If you don't want to believe what you see then don't. I'll let you know how it turns out.

First of all, this stupid posts show up on this forum way too often and just go on peoples nerves. Secondly, some people just need to learn the hard way. You are just about to do that, good luck.

Be nice. Some people are now aware of how some of these people operate.

The price is just for the camera. Oh, you wanted a battery or a cord? that is extra!

Hmm, no, we do not have that one in stock. I can cut you a deal on this more expensive unit. Yeah, I know I already took your order...

Just ship any camera. When you call me and ask why, I will claim that it is a better camera that I sent.
