1080i + 24p mode = 1080p

Hello, I just purchased a HV20 here and I am enjoying every moment using it.

I have many questions but one of the first ones I would like to ask is about 24p.

If the camera shoots in 1080i and you enable 24p mode. Doesn't that means it's still shooting in 1080 res at 24fps? Doesn't that equal 1080p? I must be missing something.

Would someone mind filling me in on how this works. I look forward to using the forums.

Yes, but only after you have removed the pulldown. If you are using an NLE that can do that automatically, then you are golden. If you are not using a system that can do that automatically, then you need to go check out the "24p workflow" threads to see how the mac people and the PC people have accomplished this.

kbrafford, is there any NLE on PC or Mac that can do pulldown automatically??

right know to do the pulldown from what i know you need to get cineform NEO HDV or NEO HD to do the pulldown in vegas or water editor you work with it does the 24p pulldown no proplem from what i read around diffrent forums
