Hey newcomer here! I hope I'm not asking commonly asked questions that can be found in the stickys...
So I have come into a hefty sum of money from working over winterbreak and I've been thinking about getting the HV20. Theres no real rush for purchasing anything, as I can use my universitys JVC mini-dv cams for film class.
Do you think I should buy now while prices are pretty low and I'll also be able to play around with and fully master the camera by a couple months time, or should I wait 2-3 more months, with prices perhaps dropping even further, OR a better camera comes into my price range? Is there a danger of the price of the HV20 going up (with the bad market, and the fed deciding to print even more money as a crappy fix-it job for the economy, RUNAWAY INFLATION HELLO!), or perhaps all vendors will stop selling them?
What I'm hoping to do is save money, get value and most bang for my buck really I guess...
After getting a camera, I will see how much money I have for a shotgun mic, and perhaps also getting a 35mm adapter.
I'm still not quite sure how 35mm adapter work...but...my dad has an old 35mm photography lense that he no longer uses (from a minolta i think, and some other photo lenses, too). Would i use these to attach to an adapter, or could I use them to build/mod into a 35mm adapter?
thanks so much, all is appreciated, all the best!
