I am wondering if the only reason I would use a Blackmagic Intensity card would be for live capture...??
So if I just shoot to tape and then capture from my HV20 to my MAC using FIREWIRE, the quality will be HDV, same as if I use HDMI to Intensity card. Correct?
(This is a double posting, I accidently posted it in PC Editing first)

No. Intensity doesn't record HDV. It records uncompressed.

From what I understand you can use the Intensity to record HDV or "live" uncompressed. When you record the HDV through the card you will get an upscaled image @ 1920 x 1080...but regardless...it will still be HDV compression. I can't stand firewire myself...so to me it might be worth it to get the intensity card (Best of both worlds).

Well, you can probably get better results by upscaling it with a better software. I don't think it's worth it to get Intensity unless you want to capture live or just use it as an output card for editing and color correction using a video monitor.
