I have imported music and then tried to drag and drop it into a audio line in FC Express. I check to make sure it was not muted but when I play back I don't get the audio.
Do I have to export it before I hear it? I would think no. Any insite?
thanks!

Does a red line appear on top of the timeline that is parrallel to the clip? if so, the clip needs to be rendered. To do so, select it in the timeline, go to the top of your screen and select sequence>render>audio. It will take a couple of seconds, but them it should play fine. Also, everytime you modify the audio clip, it will need to be re-rendered. If this is not the problem, then i have no idea what to do. Can you hear all other audio (i.e. audio from the video clip)?

Thanks, I have not rendered anything yet since tape form, still playing. I did not know audio needed "rendered" before hearing it. And this is something separate from rendering everything together right?

FCE wants all audio (camera too) to be at 48K (as opposed to a CD's 44.1K sample rate). I think the newest version of FCE fixes this, but the easy fix is to convert your music/efx to 48K within QT Pro prior to importing to FCE.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your replies guys, here is how I made it work.
File> Import> Chose the audio file I wanted to use.
Dragged it to a blank audio line in the time line.
Pulled it over so it would not start until 3 seconds or so into the movie.
Selected it in the time line> Sequence (drop down menu up top)> Render selection> Both.
That is all. Now I can play the movie in the "Canvas" and the audio plays.
After that was completed I was able to save the whole movie in the format and size I selected.
Still waiting (about 40 minutes to go rofl).
Lets hope! :hv20-smilie24:
