Hello, I have a short test clip shot in 24P mode, captured in Vegas 7.0e to a 515 MB .m2t file that I've been trying to import into After Effects. It won't load and get the following error...
" AEGP-Plug-in AAF: Error occurred while creating project. (5027::12)"
I've tried it in two different versions of AE (7, CS3) to no avail. It seems like a clip that small (515 MBs) shouldn't be a problem. Do you guys have any info that may help? I'm using Win XP SP2, 3400+. Seems like I should have enough juice.
I've also tried importing a .mpeg captured in Premiere but that doesn't work either.
Thanks for your time.

Enter your error code into google.com

That was the first thing I tried (googling error code). The only thing I found that came close was a guy with problems importing OMF files... seems related to ProTools. Has anyone else had any problems importing into After Effects? I looked thru the previous threads and couldn't really find any.

OK, let me try a different approach... is there any reason I SHOULDN'T be able to open an .M2T file in After Effects? I mean, are other people opening them in AE without a problem?

Iron Mole-
I can't tell you why you are having problems.
I can tell you that I have no problems importing .m2t files in AE 7. I'm on an older AMD AthlonXP 2x 2800+. I've opened .m2t files as large as 1.5gigs.
All my HV20 clips were captured using HDVSplit v0.77.
Perhaps that would make a difference in your case.
Good luck.

Thanks Rastus, I guess I'll look into different capturing methods. Yeah, I did an AVI export from Vegas and could open that in AE... but I hate using a re-compressed image.
I wonder if there's some sort of codec installed with Vegas that's creating a problem since I couldn't use a Premiere capture either (I don't know a lot about how some of this stuff works).
Since it sounds like a few other people have the same problem, I'll post any info I come across.
Thanks.

I'm using AE 6.5 and it didn't work with the Premiere Mpeg files, or the Vegas 7 m2t files. There should be a loader plugin that will work for older versions of AE, but I haven't found one yet.

Just export as uncompressed avi and your problem is solved.

Conjsports, when exporting an uncompressed AVI, is it really completely uncompressed? Also, can you still do the pulldown from this AVI file?
I tried importing captures made with HDVsplit and they didn't work either. I did see a quite few other people having the same problems on a other sites, specifically with HV20 files. Someone mentioned they thought the problem was caused by trying to import a DIVX file into AE... but I can't see that has anything to do with this case. I do have DIVX codecs loaded on my system... is it possible this is interfering somehow?
-Thanks
