now that I'm plowing through the HV-20 manual, I realize this ain't gonna be easy- not due to my ability to understand it, but my ability to read it!

Now that I'm almost a senior citizen, with "progressive eye glasses" which don't work like ordinary "reading glasses" which simply magnify the image, I have to take off my glasses and hold the manual within inches of my face to read it without eye strain. And, of course, seeing the tiny buttons and words on the cam are also not easy. But, I'm a systematic learner so I'll get it eventually. I'd be happy to pay a premium for a "large print" version of this manual.

So far, I've charged the battery, installed a tape, installed a 1 gig memory card, initialized the card- and was happy to see it indicate that I can take 730 photos (more or less depending on res). :)

One page at a time.

Howdy, senior citizen.

If you haven't already, download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader (http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/) (free). Then, download the manual for either the PAL (http://hv20.info/yopu/HV20_EN_PAL.pdf) or NTSC (http://hv20.info/yopu/HV20_EN_NTSC.pdf) version of the camera in pdf format and magnify it on your screen to whatever percentage you like!

Actually, I had done that- which is OK to read but when I printed the manual- it came out the same small size as the actual published manual. I like to have it in paper form so I can scribble notes on it.

I've tried several different ways to print out the pdf file so the pages fill the paper but so far no luck.

Oh, well you might want to try someone else's printer then, because if I choose 'Fit to Printer Margins' for 'Page Scaling' in Acrobats' Print dialog, every page is stretched to A4.

-edit-
Yes, that's a zoomfactor of 156% (for my printer margins). To get it even bigger you need to have an a3 printer or edit the PDF with some editor.

Great! That works perfect! Thanks!
