Ive read a lot of posts about this and decided what the hell and bought a cheap hood from ebay. Surprisingly it actually fits and doesnt appear to vignette at full wide.

Not ideal, but will probably come in useful until a real solution appears - and it was only about £6 delivered from Hong Kong.

Pics aren't loading, but thanks for the tip! EDIT: pics work now: AWESOME!!!!
So, do you have two hoods; one for HV20 without, and one hood for HV20 WITH WA lens?

(this is such a terrible thread, Rikki, I think I'll delete it!!! --- little insider joke there between Rikki and I :))

What's the ebay dealers name? I'm interested in getting one.

Is it 77mm? I measured it's only 75mm. I bought this and it's on the way.

Hi Taky,

The Bronica hood looks interesting, how does it attach? Perhaps you could post some comments about it when you've had an opportunity to try it?

Thanks, Joe

For the hood.

Although the LCD doesnt show, it does darken the corners when fully extended, but since its rubber I'm going to take a scalpel to it later and remove a few mm at a time until the corners are gone.

Its not crazy amounts so I reckon it will be fine. Oh and it was £4.99 delivered LOL

Since it's a three stage hood, you could simply use stage two for full wide without the black corners, yes?

Hi Mal,

Stage 2 likes to pop to stage 3 :D

So a sharp blade was used and its all better now. Took about 15mm off in total, still looks evil and offers some degree of benefit compared to the "wide" open naked 43.

Until I find a real solution of course...

Update!

I trimmed the hood and used it yesterday to shoot.

Works great and does not appear in the shot, even at full wide :D

Hi Taky,

Have you received your hood yet? If so, what is your impression of it?

Thanks, Joe

Yeah I received it! How sad, the item is not as accurate descripted. The opening of the lens hood only measured 65mm. It did say 75mm on the front but it's the outter rim. Luckily the seller agrees to take it back.

What a shame, it looked like a really good solution. Good that they'll take it back though.

Cheers, Joe

I went back over some older posts and I'm glad I did. Is your wide angle lens hood still holding up? A few more questions if you don't mind..what mm is the opening at the lens side is it... and what mm at the other end. Is it rubber or impack plastic and does the ring work?
Thank you
Merry Christmas

Mr. Taky I did not mean to abuse the quote or impugn your thread...I was just trying to reply.

I see you are still doing it. Can you try not to quote everything unless it is necessary? Do you know you can reply without quoting?
