HV20 will not work with Final Cut 5 Any Ideas

I have been looking at purchasing the HV20 to use with Final Cut but i can not get it working with Final Cut 5 it works fine with Imovie but i need it to work with Final Cut specifically.
Does anyone out there know if the is a codec missing or some specific setting that is stopping this from happening.
Would be greatly appreciateed.

try using the easy setup option. go to the top left and it should be under "final cut pro" choose "easy setup" and than choose "hdv - 1080i60"

It should work fine with FCP 4HD , 5 or 6. You must just have a setting problem. Make sure all your settings in FCP are correct for what you are working on and it should work fine. Feel free to list your settings so maybe we can trouble shoot better.

I also can't capture HD video downconverted from the HV20 into final cut, i only have 4.5 on a powerbook so i understand it won't handle the HD but i don't see why it can't see the SD downconversion. Any help.

What 's your system ?
10.4.9 ? (if not, DON'T upgrade yet !)

What are the exact symptoms ? Starts capture then stops or just doesn't see the cam ?

the system is 10.3.9 , when i open the log and cature the controls operate the camera, just nothing in the display window.
