Hello!

I'm using PP 2.0 & received the HV20 today. I can't even capture any footage! I get this error:

I'm able to capture standard video w/ Premiere & the HV20, but once I try & do HD footage I get the above error!

I try using the Adobe HD-SDI setting, using both of the HD settings: 1080i & 1080p setting in Premiere & have no luck! Any help would be much appreciated!

THANX!

Don't worry. You are just trying to use the wrong settings. Use HDV 1080i 30!

I don't have this setting in Premiere:

Huh, I wonder why?

You guys obviously use Premiere Pro 2.0. Do you like it better than Vegas? I'm trying to decide between the two. Mal likes Vegas much better and seems to know his stuff. any comments?

Thanks!

Well it really depends on what your project requires. I personally find Premiere to be a more intuitive/powerful for video use but not quite as powerful on the audio side compared to Vegas. If you are looking for 5.1 surround sound or extensive multi-track audio editing then I would go Vegas(as it has a professional multi-track audio editor built-in). Also Vegas has a little quicker learning curve. If you are REALLY into going professional then the winner is Avid hands down but that's usually only for studio work.

Alas:

Premiere - A little more powerful and a comfortable work flow. Extremely easy to figure out interface if you have ever used Adobe Photoshop (same company, same style interface).

Vegas - A little quicker learning curve and better audio editing.

Hope that helps.

Colto, Thanks for all the help! I used the setting you said above, and it works, but what do I do for 24p cinema recordings? Thanks!
