Hi guys and gals! First off, thanks so much for your posts and information that resides on this forum. I have gained SO much information from you all and am delighted to be able to start being part of this community. I've shot short films in the past and had moderate success (won a few small local film festival awards and the like) but not too much. Due to a variety of time consuming/stressful things in life I haven't had an opportunity to make short films for 3+ years now. I've discovered that I desperately miss it as an additional outlet of creativity (I'm a graphic designer by day). I've thus set forth to build a humble 'rig' using the HV20 as the core.
So what am I looking for? A lot of things actually! The only catch is that I'm very limited in the funding area being a recent college graduate who is getting married this next month (weddings are expensive my friends... I had no idea!). If any of you might have the following at a discounted price let me know, I would be interested:
*The Rodes Mic that can be mounted to the hotshoe
*A wide-angle lens that works with HV20, such as the Canon aftermarket one or the Raynox, etc.
*Some sort of handheld steadying rig that can be used to stabilize my running/walking handheld shots
*A light(s) that can be mounted onto the camera outside of the hotshoe (so that I can still use the mic).
*35mm DIY adaptor (I've looked at the ones twoneil makes on here and they look stellar! I'm actually planning on ordering one from him after the wedding when I'm able to save some more dough!)
As you can see, I'm not super specific as far as brands go. I'm just looking to put together an affordable (albeit a little used) rig to shoot with. I'm located in the US, so it would preferable if some of these things were available 'semi-locally' for shipping purposes. I've got the script, storyboards, computer, editing software to work with, just need to work on the camera now :).
Again thank you so much to everyone who has put in hours of time and effort into getting the most out of this camera- this really is an amazing community!
God Bless,
Stephen
