Hi,
Can anyone suggest me a backpack that I can use to take all my stuff while traveling. None of my local stores seems to have one for me to check personally leaving me with only e-buying option.
My stuff would include:
1) Canon digital SLR with medium zoom lens.
2) 80-400 sigma
3) 150 Macro
5) HV20
6) WD-H43
7) RODE SVM
+ batteries, few cassettes, CF cards, filters etc..
I am also planning to buy the TL-H43 and an wide angle lens for the SLR.
And obviously I would like to strap a Tripod to the bag.
Please help!!

well guys as there was no suggestions from enlightened ones I thought I have to figure this out myself. So I ended up ordering Lowepro Computrekker plus AW. Its on the way now!
I would let people know how I feel about it once it arrives and if there is any other posts in this thread showing interest in such a backpack.

I'm tempted. In actuality, for a camera like this - with all the pieces and extras it might have, I am finding myself interested in a backup, a smaller hip pack, and a larger case to fit everything.

sp8ce07,
Yes thats my idea too. I would like to use a small belt pack where I would keep the hv20 or SLR with one lens and access it as and when required. While I would use the backpack to put all my stuff and use it to carry everything when I go somewhere. In that way I dont have to carry 2 different shoulder bags which are extremely inconvenient to carry!

Well guys,
I have received the backpack!! Its quite big and is really well-made. The space for the camera and lenses would be enough to hold all my present gear and would also allow me to buy and put a few more extra lenses I have my eye on! :hv20-smilie84:
The front chamber is also big enough to hold, extra batteries, cassettes, CF cards, charger etc. etc.
The chamber for the computer is rather slim though. My old hp laptop would fit snuggishly. However someone with a latest laptop (thinner ones; about 1.2 inch) or a macbook would have no difficulty putting it there.
I would try to take a few pics of that if you guys want it.

I currently have a 3 year old Lowe pro which I LOVE!! It would hold my HV20, My Canon 20D with a 28-70 2.8 Big lens big glass, my Flash, My Canon Die angle lens for the 20, filters, batteries, SD Cards, CF Cards. Love my Lowe Pro. Will buy a new one before my 5 weeks in Europe, soon.

Yes please! Fitting my XT w/ just a short lense and the HV20 in my camera bag is a little tough. I had no problem w/ the ZR60 but the HV20 is a little fatter. Is there room to put the HV20 in with a wide angle lens and a zoom mic attached as well?

White_2kgt,
I would try to take some pics this weekend and post them. This bag is really big! It would definitely take all of your gear and still would probably be half-filled!!
You might like to look into Lowepro Microtrekker (in case you dont want to carry the laptop too). Even the sling bags from Lowepro are very convenient in the sense that they can be rotated to get an instant access to your gear unlike a full-fledged backpack; where you have to take it off, lay it on the ground and take out your gear!

Yea I have no need to carry the laptop around w/ me. If I think I'll need it I just leave it in the truck (never more than 1/2 from it). The Microtrekker looks pretty good! Much better price too :). Are those divisions inside adjustable? From the pictures it looks like I won't have a problem getting the XT in there but not sure about the HV20 w/ a lens also, unless I could pull out one of those divisions.
Thanks!
Chad

Yup, at least in my case they are adjustable. :hv20-smilie03:
I do not know where you are going to buy it from. But I would have no reservation recommending sellnsend.com where I bought it from.
They are authorized Lowepro dealer and also gives the best price. They do sell in Ebay too at a somewhat lower price than in their website.
p.s. I am not associated with them anyway! It was just a great buying experience that is making me recommend them.

Thanks for the heads up! Do you know if any of them come w/ provisions to attach (via straps or whatever) a tripod?

In my backpack you can strap a normal size tripod. (You can check the alternative view 2 in lowepro website)
In case of Microtrekker 200, they say you can strap a small tripod at the bottom (horizontally I perceive). Microtrekker 100 cannot do that.
For Minitrekker AW its again the same as mine. But when you put the AW cover you cannot have the tripod in any one of these.

I went to Samy's today and found my killer case. It was a Lowepro 34705 Computer trekker plus aw. Not only will it hold my Canon Digital DLS, the HV20, flash and a multitude of lenses but it will also safely hold a 17" Macbook. I only have a 15" one now but would like to think I could get a 17" soon.
It was $248 at Samys but Amazon has it for $189 and no tax or shipping. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007W1E4W/ref=nosim/coffeeresearch69286-20)
(I don't mind the weight of all that stuff, been carrying it or more for years.)

This was the same bag that I got man! Just that I got it for 148$ (all inclusive) from sellnsend.com (through their ebay sale).:hv20-smilie84:
If you buy it from their website they would give it for 189$ (+ a $30 free bag!!!)
