It's going to rain today, and I'd really like to get out there and shoot some of it. I was wondering what's a quick, cheap way to make an effective rain cover so I won't damage any of my equipment?

I think with a bag, some duck tape and a lens hood or any 43mm filter, you should be able to hack something up that works quite effectively.

I have a wide-angle lens, but no lens hood. Any chance that would cut it?

I have a wide-angle lens, but no lens hood. Any chance that would cut it? Sure that should work,(cover the wide angle lens with tape) also with out a lens hood there will be constant water droplets on the lens.

Where could I get a proper lens hood for my wide angle?

Where could I get a proper lens hood for my wide angle? It depends on what exact model wide angle lens you have.

I've got the WD-H43.

That lens doesn't have a front thread to mount any thing so I think the best way is to make one your self or look for one that clamps on.

I was thinking the same but to access the buttons etc. and deal with the wind, I'm thinking of a Tupperware stile box upside down with an anchoring which will fit the accessory shoe to keep it in place, a clear plastic panel for the lens to see through and an elasticated waterproof 'cuff' fixed to the open bottom of the box. Hearing the wind blowing now I'll probably need a second fixing to the tripod socket.

I recently shot some footage in high wind which was buffeting the camera. Other than placing my body upwind, I can't think of a simple counter for that.

Could this (http://pana3ccduser.com/showthread.php?t=18085&highlight=oven) be an idea?

That's pretty clever. I'll have to try that out, if I can find one of those bags. Though I suppose anything would work.

I really want to find out what type of plastic Aquapac uses infront of thier submersible cases. It's super clear and can be shot through as though there was a filter in front. I would be inclined to build an HV20 specific cover from scratch, using various industrial adhesives to bind the seams. Not hard to do, but getting the front sheet would be a trick. Aquapac is base din the UK.

I need a good solution for this as I'm going to Hawaii for 17 days on the 21st and I dont know what to do. I was thinking just a travel umbrella would work fine...unless its real windy.

My son took the picture when we were sailing. My wife was supposed to be on the lookout till I noticed she was reading the paper. But I would never kick her.

It's raining this morning and I'd planned to go filming foxes. But didn't deter me, so I wrapped a plastic bag round my hv30. While I was out though I thought about neoprene tube to make a skin. Would that work?

Hama (sp?) for lens hood, Ewa-Marine for rain gear. Effective and won't cost an arm and a leg... use the EWA for storm chasing with good effect.

i made one where i took a plastic grocery bag, and cut a 43mm circular hole in it. I than found a rubber band and duct taped it around the hole, so the hole can be attached to a lens or your body. One more cut for the lcd to stick out (you risk getting it wet but you need to see the screen)

One gallon sized ziplock bag. Hole for lens with filter and tape around filter/hood etc.

Can see LCD and this should protect cam.
