Here is a Macro clip I shot of a SCSI RAID card. Amazing detail using the HV20. You don't think of a camcorder when you think of Macro Photography but this thing is amazing when shooting close up. This clip was shot in 60i with auto settings and normal office overhead lights. I can almost touch the lens to the object when shooting, very cool.

Pretty neat. Nicely shot - good color and everything, too.
I didn't know it could do macro.
You did a great job keeping the shot steady, too.

You sure got in close there. The HV20 seems very impressive in the Macro department. I'm going to have to take this into consideration when I start shooting some stuff...I'll make some great footage out of this.
Thanks for sharing.

I think canon have always been good on the macro.
I was messing about with my old 'UC2000' analogue the other
day and thats still pretty impressive for an 11 year old camera.
You could see the individual hairs on my head and everything.
I might actually compare the macroness between the two when i get
my hv20 and post the images, canon a decade on.
Might be an interesting topic on the forum.
Anyone got an older Canon?

I was also amazed at the macro capabilities of this little cam. You can truly tough the object with the lens and still get a sharp image.
