Does anyone know how to make thumbnails out of M2T files in Windows? This is driving me crazy, I have all of these great clips and it take forever to click on every single file to see what it is. The only way I can fix it is to covert every clip to an AVI or MPG file witch would take weeks with all the clips that I have. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks!

this is an interesting question. do you mean a thumbnail that would actually play the video in a thumbnail? i never have heard about doing this. i'm so dumb about this if you gave me the assignment to do it i'd try a custom rendor using the xy dimesions of a thumbnail. i guess i would have tried rendoring it as an mpeg2 but you sound like you already know that only certain formats play when you use the thumbnail mode of exploerer. frankly thats another thing I never do. i've always used a detail mode but you might be on to something if one has hundreds of short clips. i would still at the very least organize using subfolders with appropriate categories.
i always try to describe my clips with the filename as thorogh as possible and even orgainze my clips by filefolders describing the types of clips. here is an example of what i mean:
normanblake_peacefulbendwinery_640X480_5-20-07.wmv
name of performer location resolution rendered date recorded
I'm sure that if you think about it you can come up with some better ones but at least you can get an idea of what the clip is.

I do rename some of the files so I know what they are but I was talking about Explorer showing the thumbnails of the files. They don't move it is just a snapshot of the first frame of the video. It works with AVI or MPG files but it doesn't work with .MT2 files. If anyone has a fix for this please let me know. Thanks.
