Does anyone here know what combination of aperture, shutter speed etc make the cine mode in the camcorder setting?:hv20-smilie51:

There is no combination that matches Cinemode. Cinemode has a lot more going on in the background than shutter and aperature etc. It also adjust gamma etc.

You loose a ton of sharpness\detail with it, thats for sure !

There are lots of processes used in actual 'film' so it would be handy to know which particular processes (or film types/stock) Canon have intended to emulate.

Cine mode pretty much emulates a "best light" film transfer, which is used if color correction and effects work is going to be done in the post production, instead of film transfer.
It has low contrast and no artifical sharpening (which is what people call softness).
There IS also some real detail loss in low contrast areas of the image, but that's probably due to HDV compression or noise reduction kicking in, rather than cinemode itself.
