View Full Version : Strange DVXuser banning rules

Too funny. After posting an ebay productlink at dvxuser.com asking about experiences with specific fluro lights I noticed that I have been banned till December 15th for spamming.

This is somewhat arrogant behaviour. Especially funny it gets if you take into consideration that some site sponsors post advertising links for their products all the time and mine wasn't meant as an advertising for anything. Just a simple question.

DVXuser.com really sucks.

Actually DVXUser rules, you just didn't realize what the well-known and easily-found policies over there were that's all. That forum kicks ass no doubt, and that ebay policy has been around over there for years.

I have read many ebay links on HV20.com and never seen anyone kicked out of it really. And it was clearly marked as a question. It's just so schizophrenic. If this Andrewski guy promotes his lights all the time in a penetrating way it isn't considered as spam, but if I ask a simple question about a product they consider that as spam.

I've bought a couple small items from eBay links posted on this forum. :) I don't really read the other forum like I do this one, so sorry to hear about your being banned. I guess the only word of advice is to try to find a non-eBay link or maybe post just the item # of the eBay product without a direct link. :hv20-smilie77:

I think they may have recently updated their "rules" or something..

They recently (within the past few days) changed my signature, since I had a animated gif that displayed the most recent headlines of my blog. I've had it for the better part of the past month with no issues. *shrug*

I honestly don't see how eBay links could hurt a site (if they are kept in moderation), so we never made that a banning offense here.

In fact, except for some trigger happy mods (j/k), we are quite forgiving, whereas DVXuser is quite strict. It's a good site, but quite strict and stern.

This site, HV20.com isn't taking that hard line, deliberately.

IN THE END THOUGH, it's up to whomever starts the group or forum to set his or her rules.

DVXuser has their rules, we have ours.

Two different forums, two different sets of rules.

Neither is better or more correct.

Fact remains that DVXUser is an AMAZING resource, and if you choose not to use it, at the end of the day, it's you're loss really. I wouldn't take it personally.

I can't seem to find the dvxuser forum policy anywhere. Any ideas?
