Rule 1:
NO IMAGE HOSTING ON EXTERNAL SERVERS.
Images for the games need to be ATTACHED to the post, and thus uploaded to our server.

Rule 2:
TWO GUESSES PER PERSON PER POSTED PICTURE!!! Those two guesses are not allowed to be in the same post, NOR in a consecutive post.
I.e. you can post one guess, then have to wait for someone else to post: your second guess is not allowed to be immediately following your first guess.

Rule 3:
The WINNER of the game can start a new game IN A NEW THREAD.
NO ONE ELSE (unless yielded so by the winner).

Rule 4:
Once there's a winner, PLEASE post the correct name into the thread (spelled correctly, and capitalized correctly, and not in italics or bold face.)

Rule 5:
The correct title format is: "Game" / space / "#" / number.
Example: " Game #12" (without the ")
(no space between the # sign and the number!)

Rule 6:
These complete rules (1 to 6) have to be copy&pasted into each new game's first post.

Ok, this one seems appropriate for today (there... starting off with a hint right away).

For the benefit of the rest of the planet, what's special about today, in the US?:hv20-smilie03:

If I had to guess, the Oscars maybe?

Oh, yes... that farce... I never watch it.

The King's speech

Not King's speech.

Hint: The movie is more than 10 years old.

Another screen grab, and a hint:

The lead actor and the film's composer were born on the exact same date.

Ahaa, so the Oscar date didn't refer to this year's films... ;)

One flew over the cuckoo's nest?

HueyNRolf is correct!

One of only 3 films to win what is generally considered to be the five major awards.

Dayam!! And I thought I knew that movie very well!!

Well spotted, Huey!:hv20-smilie77:

Y'know, I checked out that guy in the photograph, too. I just knew his face from somewhere. He looked like the Head Shrink who interviewed McMurphy, only not in his suit. But when I IMBd'd him, it said he was only ever in that one movie, OFOTCN.

And I just knew that couldn't be the movie.....duh! :hv20-smilie84:

Again, Huey, well done!!

Btw, that guy was one of the most memorable characters in that movie, I thought. Very natural acting. He could give lessons.

Ok... the fact that you could look at a b&w photo and recognize a non-actor who appeared in only one, 35-year-old film is nothing short of scary! :)

And I'm guessing Huey did as well.

I need to pick way harder screen grabs.

Here's another uncanny thing. Yesterday a scene from that movie played in one of my train-travel daydreams. Then I get home, check this thread out and saw grab #3. WTF?

I'll get a new one going soon.

Aw shucks, 'tain't no big thang! :hv20-smilie03:

It just shows that I have a worrying habit of storing trivial details, that is nothing short of obsessive! :hv20-smilie15:

But really, that guy does have a memorable face. And his scenes really linger on his face and his expressions. Pity he hadn't made a career of acting.

Now that's scary!

Memory works in mysterious ways. In my case, the mystery is that I didn't recognize any of the first three shots, even though I've seen the movie a few times...
