Its difficult to judge any hand held night footage Paulo played at that speed, some bits look out of focus which i dont understand as a 20mm lens left on manual focus should leave everything in focus all the time, what do you use for sound .The GH2 is certainly going to be the one to catch now.Chris

It can sometimes be very problematic having the 20mm lens in manual focus mode especially when I'm panning and moving from one spot to another spot very quickly. Now if I was using something like f/5.6 rather than f/1.7, than the story is a little different. Keep in mind that f/1.7 is really not that easy to always keep things in focus.

I used to play with the speed settings in the past but never showed anything to the public yet. In this case I wanted to have everything in 1 video rather than dividing it into 2 videos and because of my slow DSL speed, I didn't want the file to be too big. I also wanted to keep as much footage as possible so I said to myself, why not have some fun and speed it up. I do know how bad thet can look especially when there's a lot of movement since it multiplies the speed of the shakes. I also kept it mostly at a shutter of 30 just to see how everything will look. It's usually best to keep it at 60 to match some of the lights. If only the GH2 had a shutter of 24! Some scenes toward the end are normal speed although I think a lot of people are stopping it during the part with me walking down the street since I had it at 4x speed and that can definitely give people a headache.

The audio was completely from the camera and from looking at the footage, you can still I didn't have any stabilizer although when there's not too many people next to me, my shooting can be very good like in the street performer scenes.

It's a very nice camera and I haven't used my GH1 since I got it but I still plan on getting a normal camcorder. Either get the TM700, SDT750 or wait until CES. This way, I'd get the best of both worlds.

ok not the best hand work but the lowlight performance of the gh2 is spectacular. youve got a great camera there

I do believe that Panasonic is going to do major damage with the GH2. Maybe "present" specs may or may not determine this. But if they hack the GH2, I can only be thankful that I will be a proud owner of one in the next month. I love the Canons. But the overheating issue is enough to prevent me from buying. Would you buy a damn new car that overheats? I don't buy into the excuses for the T2i, 7D, etc not being "camcorders". I don't hear panasonic making excuses, and its a fact that you can still get a new GH1 for the price of a T2i. Forget video comparisons. The coldest camera wins.

Thanks to brilliant amazon servise i am in the process of changing to a GH2,but the GH2 is not strictly a DSLR.Any info on adaptors for canon lenses would be a help.

I don't think my shooting was bad in the parts where I was standing still without people around me. It's just that in the parts with the parade, I had to put the camera way over my head and a lot of times I was holding it with only 1 hand. For sure I was very tired and the 20mm lens lacks a stabilizer. Still, I actually did better shooting with the camera way over my head in this video that I shot with the GH1 and surprisingly I forgot to enable the stabilizer on the 14-140 lens. You have no idea how much that pissed me off! In the bright side, it didn't turn out that bad considering my very bad mistake.

How do you hand hold without accidentaly pressing one of the many cluttered buttons around where the operators thumb comes.
